Titans rookie arrested for unpaid traffic ticket

That whole thing about the NFL going an entire calendar month without a player being arrested. Well, we can throw that out the window.

The Tennessean is reporting that Tennessee Titans wide receiver Dorial Green-Beckham was arrested last week in Van Buren, Mo. for an unpaid speeding ticket. The rookie wide receiver, who was stopped for speeding, paid the $93.00 fine and was released from custody shortly thereafter.

For Green-Beckham, it's his first run-in with the law after a college career that saw the ultra-talented pass catcher dismissed from the Missouri football team after a early-morning incident with his girlfriend. He had also been arrested twice on marijuana charges.

About as minor as it comes, this most recent off-field incident won't impact Green-Beckham's status with the Titans moving forward. Head coach Ken Whisenhunt indicated that the receiver will not face repercussions stemming from the incident. And unless the NFL decides to now sticks its nose in traffic violations, he should be clear there as well.

Beckham's arrest comes just a few days after it was widely reported that no active NFL players were arrested in a calendar month for the first time since 2009. Considering this incident took place in September, that's no longer the case.
