Texas rises to No. 3 behind South Carolina, Ohio State
Chris Jones-USA TODAY Sports

Red-hot Texas climbed two spots to No. 3 in the Associated Press Top 25 poll behind unbeaten South Carolina and Ohio State.

The Longhorns (26-3) pushed their winning streak to eight with wins last week over Texas Tech and UCF. Monday's ranking is the highest for Texas since it was also third on Nov. 14, 2022.

The Gamecocks (27-0) once again received all 35 first-place votes and the Buckeyes (24-3) held on to the No. 2 slot after a topsy-turvy week in women's college basketball.

No. 4 Stanford (24-4) dropped one spot after losing to Arizona and No. 5 Virginia Tech (23-4) moved up three spots after extending its winning streak to 10 games.

No. 6 Iowa (24-4) fell two places and No. 7 Southern California (21-5) held steady, while UCLA (21-5), LSU (24-4) and UConn (24-5) all rejoined the top 10.

UNLV (24-2) returned to the poll, tied at No. 24 with West Virginia (22-5), while Princeton fell out after losing to Columbia.
