Notre Dame Adds Former Clemson Wide Receiver Out Of The Transfer Portal
Ken Ruinard-USA TODAY Sports

The Notre Dame Fighting Irish have had a wide receiver issue for the past couple of years. While they have had some great quarterbacks, their wide receivers haven’t been dynamic enough to maximize the talent. Head coach Marcus Freeman is looking to change that. After landing Kris Mitchell from the portal last week, former Clemson wide receiver Beaux Collins announced he is heading to South Bend.

Notre Dame Adds WR Beaux Collins From The Transfer Portal

Collins has spent the last three years at Clemson. In those seasons he has racked up 91 catches for 1,290 yards and 11 touchdowns. While he was by no means the best receiver in the country, he had solid production which is exactly what the Fighting Irish are looking for. He had this to say in a statement about the move.

“There’s no other program with the exposure and respect they have week in and week out. What also stood out to me was Coach Free (Freeman) and the respect that he already has throughout the program from the top down. Joining up with other ballers on the offense is going to be a sight to see in the near future.”

Got The Weapons, Now They Need A Quarterback

The weapons are great but the program needs a quarterback. Riley Leonard has been heavily rumored to go to South Bend but so far there has not been any official announcement. All of the weapons don’t mean anything if there is no one to throw to. However, I don’t think this should be a concern for fans. Notre Dame will be able to get a high-profile quarterback to come, especially with the addition of all of these weapons.

Marcus Freeman has to be happy with landing another talented receiver from the portal. Hopefully this week they can solidify the quarterback position this week.
