Ohio State HC Ryan Day stays mum on Michigan cheating allegations: 'I'm focused on my team'

How did Michigan's sign stealing impact Ohio State? Did the Buckeyes get their signs stolen by their arch-rivals at some point during their two-game losing skid to Michigan? Does Day know anything about that?

“Again, I appreciate the question. I’d ask the question, too, if I was you. But, I’m not going to answer that,” Day said in a recent news conference (h/t On3).

There would certainly be justification for Day stirring the pot a little bit in this regard, but as any head coach would, he's keeping his eyes focused on the here and now. "The Game" between Michigan and Ohio State is going to be as big as ever – with both teams likely to be coming in undefeated – but OSU still has to get to that point unscathed.

And for now, that means focusing on 5-5 Minnesota. 

“It’s like I said. I appreciate it. I know there’s a lot out there. I just — I’m focused on my team," Day again said, following up on the question. "We gotta play Minnesota, we gotta beat these guys, and then we’ll move on to what comes next after that. But, we’ve got things here we’ve gotta keep getting better at and that’s what I’m going to focus on, get on this film after practice and go from there and worry about the things that I can control."

This will all eventually impact Ohio State. Just not right at this moment. When OSU and Michigan do meet up in two weekends, Harbaugh will be serving the final game of this three-game suspension, meaning Day will be pitted against Michigan interim coach Sherrone Moore.
