Alex Rodriguez admits being not as “disciplined” compared to Derek Jeter during career run

Alex Rodriguez looked back on his relationship with Derek Jeter as it traced back to their teenage years as college prospects and then baseball rivals. He reveals that within their 30-plus year of history, there have been continuous ups and downs, with the media further blowing up their bond negatively.

He revealed feeling NY media obsession over his relationship with Derek Jeter only worsened with time. Needless to say, the whole MLB world at that time looked out for the pair to get juicy details on any further provocation or comments. In Alex Rodriguez’s words,

A-Rod further revealed that, unlike Jeter, he wasn’t “as disciplined” and his actions “created some noise.” On the other hand, he complimented Jeter for doing “a nice job of being super disciplined.” Their opposing personalities were also one of the reasons why the media dug into their story.

A-Rod blames the NY media, noting it was them that may have damaged their relationship more than the person involved. He boldly said that if it had not been for NY or Yankee media, things may not have gotten so out of control over time.

He admitted Jeter was “a great player” as well as a “good teammate”. Regardless, he wishes to mend all relations with Jeter now that they are once again united as media analysts at FOX. A-Rod admitted he regrets some of his actions which may have worsened his relationship with Jeter and hopes to mend them now.
