Watch: Astros 1B admires his own home run
Houston Astros first baseman Jon Singleton. John Jones-USA TODAY Sports

Jon Singleton absolutely crushed a home run off Marcus Stroman on Thursday, and the blast was so majestic, Singleton couldn’t help but admire it.

Yordan Alvarez had homered in the top of the first inning of Thursday’s game between the Houston Astros and New York Yankees at Yankee Stadium in the Bronx. Jeremy Pena followed with a walk, and Singleton quickly knocked in his teammate with a massive two-run shot.

Everyone knew the ball was gone the moment Singleton hit it. The lefty stopped to admire his big blow.

Alvarez captured everyone’s reaction to the home run quite well:

That was Singleton’s fourth home run of the season, and it left the biggest mark. It traveled an estimated 442 feet and reached the third deck at Yankee Stadium. What a bomb.
