Norris Cole Signs With G League Ignite

The Ignite, of course, are made up of mostly younger players who have opted against college as they work toward a spot in the NBA Draft. Houston Rockets guard Jalen Green and Portland Trail Blazers point guard Scoot Henderson are two examples of players who went the Ignite route.

Cole, 35, is a former star at Cleveland State who was selected with the No. 28 overall pick in the 2011 NBA Draft. He then went on the play alongside LeBron James, Dwyane Wade and Chris Bosh with the Miami Heat from 2011-14, winning two championship rings along the way.

After that, Cole spent time with the New Orleans Pelicans and Oklahoma City Thunder, last appearing in an NBA game in 2017-18. Since then he has spent time in Puerto Rico, Montenegro, France and Egypt. He played part of last season with the Gran Rapids Gold of the G League as well.

Cole is 6-foot-2 and carries NBA career averages of 7.0 points and 2.7 assists over six seasons.
