Timberwolves win first series in 20 years after sweeping Suns

It cost the Phoenix Suns five players, four first-round picks, five first-round pick swaps and seven second-rounders to assemble their super team. They got only four playoff games out of it.

Phoenix has three All-Stars in Kevin Durant, Devin Booker and Bradley Beal. But the Minnesota Timberwolves have Anthony Edwards, who outplayed the legends across from him with an emphatic 40-point performance in Minnesota's 122-116 win.

When Phoenix was down to their last real chance trailing by four in the final seconds, Edwards ended the series with another dunk.

Durant, who was Edwards' favorite player growing up, scored 33 points. He's on the losing end of a first-round sweep for the second time in three seasons. Booker had a huge game with 49 points, making 20 of his 21 free throws.

But the third member of the Big 3, Beal, only scored nine points and turned the ball over six times, while fouling out. This was an unfortunate result, given that he announced his refusal to be swept.

He's now been swept a day in his life. And the Suns have been swept out of the playoffs, like so many future picks were swept out of the organization to build this team.
