In a shocking turn of events, 18 former NBA players were arrested and charged federally due to an alleged fraud of the NBA's Health and Welfare Benefit plan, according to Tom Winter of NBC News and Adrian Wojnarowski of ESPN:
"BREAKING: 18 former NBA players have been arrested and charged federally for defrauding the NBA’s Health and Welfare Benefit Plan out of approximately $4,000,000, law enforcement officials say," Tweeted Winter.
"Among the ex-NBA players charged in the alleged fraud case: Tony Allen, Glen "Big Baby" Davis and Darius Miles," added Woj.
