Minnesota’s offensive coordinator Wes Phillips was arrested on Friday night for misdemeanor driving while intoxicated. Phillips, the son of former NFL head coach Wade Phillips, notified the team about the arrest and is expected to join them for the game against the Las Vegas Raiders this week.

The team contacted the NFL this morning and discussed what the next steps taken will be with Phillips. The NFL concluded that the offensive coordinator will be able to travel with the team to Las Vegas for this week’s game. Phillips is in his 17th season coaching in the league and his second season as the offensive coordinator with the Vikings. He was the tight ends coach for the Los Angeles Rams, who won the Super Bowl over the Cincinnati Bengals. He is in his second year in a main coaching position in the NFL and has made a good impression on the field for the team.

Minnesota is currently 6-6 and sitting in second place in the NFC North division. They will face the Raiders this week in hopes of solidifying their placement in their division, in which they have a narrow lead over the Green Bay Packers.
