The 2024 Indian Wells Open has reached its conclusion with the finals scheduled to be played on 17 March. The men’s and women’s singles final will be played on Sunday. The four singles finalists include 2022 Indian Wells Open women’s singles champion Iga Swiatek , runner-up Maria Sakkari , two-time Grand Slam champion and defending champion Carlos Alcaraz, and 2021 US Open champion Daniil Medvedev .

The Greek ace leads Swiatek 3-2. However, the Polish ace has won their last two encounters. With the form on her side, Swiatek will fancy her chances. It is also worth mentioning that the last meeting between the two players was in the 2022 Indian Wells Open women’s singles final.

Carlos Alcaraz vs. Daniil Medvedev

In the men’s singles final, defending champion Carlos Alcaraz will be up against Daniil Medvedev. The 20-year-old Spaniard has not won anything ever since his Wimbledon title last year. Hence, Alcaraz will be more hungry than ever to lift the title.

On the other hand, Medvedev will be hoping to win his maiden title in the desert. It will be interesting to see who wins the summit clash. It is worth mentioning that Alcaraz currently leads the head-to-head record between the two players 3-2. Also, the Spaniard thumped Medvedev to win the Indian Wells Open title last year.
