Jannik Sinner ends the wait with a comeback for the ages

Jannik Sinner won his maiden Grand Slam title on Sunday and he did it in some style. It was not an easy win for the Italian who lost the first two sets 3-6, 3-6. However, Sinner never lost the belief and confidence in himself and it reflected in his shots.

The Italian then won the next two sets 6-4, 6-4, and when it came to the decider, Sinner upped his level and won the opening game. Although Medvedev tried to catch up, Sinner maintained the lead and eventually won two games on the trot to close the match in his favor.

After his win, Sinner talking about the role of his coaches, emphasized how they help him get better with every match. Sinner lauded his coaches for running for every ball during his final match.

Every match I find something where I can improve, and you make me always a much, much better player. Your effort has been awesome throughout the whole tournament – the hours off the court and also today’s effort running for every ball is remarkable to see, so I hope you can also lift this trophy here, I’m sure that you can.
