Watch: John Isner shows off pickleball skills at PPA event
Danielle Parhizkaran-USA TODAY Sports

John Isner jumped on the pickleball bandwagon and he proved quite natural in a recent match played in the US.

A growing number of tennis players are enjoying playing pickleball, which is very similar to tennis but much less physically demanding because it is played on a smaller court. Recent history has seen Noah Rubin become the first professional tennis player to permanently switch to the game after realizing its growing appeal.

If the sport ever gains the same level of popularity as tennis, only time will tell, but Judy Murray has also witnessed its explosive growth. She represents the sport in Scotland as an ambassador and recently issued a warning to tennis, declaring that pickleball could replace it.

Even though that was said in jest, it's feasible that this sport will grow immensely popular and attract the attention of sponsors and investors. Tennis is a sport that is essentially losing supporters every year, therefore it is interesting to consider how it will change as it grows in popularity.
