WTA Eastbourne Day 3 Predictions Including Ons Jabeur vs Camila Giorgi
Main Photo Credit: Mike Frey-USA TODAY Sports

Camila Giorgi and Ons Jabeur played in Linz nine years ago with the Italian coming out on top. Will the outcome be the same when they meet on Wednesday at the 2023 WTA Rothesay International in Eastbourne? Jabeur reached the final at Wimbledon last year and has a fantastic record on grass, making her the favorite of that clash. We also look at the rest of the matches in Eastbourne in a separate article. Who do you think will prevail?

WTA Eastbourne Day 3 Predictions

Xiyu Wang vs Madison Keys

Head-to-head: First meeting

Madison Keys won this event back in 2014 and even after all these years, she remains a force to be reckoned with on grass. She didn’t quite show it in her opening round against Tereza Martincova, but it was still enough to progress in straight sets. Xiyu Wang has produced a very strong campaign coming from the qualifying here but against someone with the weaponry of Keys in fast conditions, it could be tough for her to keep it up.
Prediction: Keys in 3

Caroline Garcia vs Ana Bogdan

Head-to-head: Garcia 3-0

Caroline Garcia leads the head-to-head 3-0, but their most recent match was a thriller. Ana Bogdan led 5-3 in the deciding set in Rome and lost the next four games. The Romanian can counter-punch with a pretty heavy ball, which could lead to some issues for the hyper-aggressive Garcia. But even with the second seed not quite in her 2022 form right now, on grass her attacking repertoire is likely to be a bit too overwhelming in the long run.
Prediction: Garcia in 3

Jessica Pegula vs Camila Osorio

Head-to-head: First meeting

Camila Osorio went winless on grass in 2022 (0-4), so qualifying and winning a round here is already an improvement. Her point construction skills aren’t as important here as on her favorite clay, but the Colombian is such a great mover. Jessica Pegula is quite a challenge though as the third seed had a very good showing against Qinwen Zheng on Tuesday. If she can be this aggressive on second serve return again, she should be fine here.
Prediction: Pegula in 2

Camila Giorgi vs Ons Jabeur

Head-to-head: Giorgi 1-0

Camila Giorgi won their only previous encounter in Linz nine years ago, but that was way too long ago to be relevant to this day. Ons Jabeur has an absolutely ridiculous 61-18 win/loss record on the lawn in her career and that’s for a good reason with her ability to truly showcase her craftiness on the surface. She lost her opening match of this grass court season to Jule Niemeier, but seems back on track here and has the set of tools to disrupt the rhythm of the very inconsistent opponent.
Prediction: Jabeur in 3
