WTA Indian Wells Day 4 has some exciting match ups, as the seeds enter the race in the second round. There could be some shock results on the cards, as those without a bye will be accustomed to the surface already. The seeds will have practiced, but nothing beats a match. Who will be the shock result? Will Elina Svitolina extend her winning run against Katerina Siniakova? Can Emma Raducanu win her first big title since the 2021 US Open?

WTA Indian Wells Day 4 Predictions

Liudmila Samsonova vs Naomi Osaka

Head to Head: First Meeting

Liudmila Samsonova is the 14th seed here at Indian Wells. The Russian has had an up and down season so far. After suffering an early exit in Australia, Samsonova made the semifinal in Abu Dhabi. Another early exit and then a third round in the next two events see the Russian hoping to find success again. Naomi Osaka best finishing position so far was the quarter final in Qatar. The Japanese needs to find winning ways again, it may not be here.
Prediction: Samsonova in 3

Emma Navarro vs Lesia Tsurenko

Emma Navarro is the 23rd seed here. The American has had a great build up to Indian Wells. As the season has progressed, Navarro has got stronger. The American made the semifinal in San Diego last week, where she was beaten by Brit Katie Boulter, who went on to win the title. Lesia Tsurenko has already defeated one American here and will look to double up on this. The Ukrainian was also defeated by Boulter in San Diego. Tsurenko has already played a match, so will be used to the courts. However, Navarro is still looking good for the win.
Prediction: Navarro in 2

Emma Raducanu vs Dayana Yastremska

Head to Head: 1-0

The last time these two met was back in 2022 in Portoroz. Emma Raducanu was the top seed at that event and was well on top in the match. Dayana Yastremska had to retire from the match before the Brit had the chance to close it out. Raducanu has seen her ranking drop substantially, having been out for much of last season due to injuries and needing surgery. Yastremska is the 30th seed here and so on paper should take this one. However, Raducanu is only so lowly ranked due to last season.
Prediction: Raducanu in 2

Elina Svitolina vs Katerina Siniakova

Head to Head: 3-0

Elina Svitolina has battled each of the three times these players have met on the circuit. The Ukrainian and Katerina Siniakova last played in Toronto in 2019, where Svitolina was the sixth seed. Siniakova will be hoping to even out the head to head a bit here, with her first win against Svitolina. However, as the Ukrainian is seeded it will not be easy. Svitolina will be confident of defeating the Czech player again and it could be a very exciting match
Prediction: Svitolina in 3
