Taylor Fritz and Reilly Opelka react to gambling fines

Taylor Fritz and Reilly Opelka have both reacted with disbelief at the news that Mardy Fish and Bob Bryan have each been fined $10,000 and been issued four month suspended bans for what was cited as 'the promotion of a gaming operator on social media'.

Writing on social media in the past 24 hours, Fritz said, "Huh?!?! So tennis channel (and many others) can run special segments for draft kings, but as a coach you aren’t allowed to legally sports bet on another sport that has nothing to do with tennis".

Big-serving Reilly Opelka also expressed his dismay, saying that tennis is stuck in the 1950s when it comes to gambling laws.

The main source of the frustration appears to come from the perceived hypocrisy of a major tennis network in the US running lengthy advertising segments promoting betting sites, while social media shares about betting sites from individuals are being punished.

Both Fish and Bryan have accepted their penalties, co-operated in full and have not said anything more on the matter so far.
